Rain!

It has been a rainy spring and early summer. I don't think I have ever seen the surrounding hills so green. The goats are doing well, kidding is all finished. 216% kid crop this year! So thrilled with the ease of kidding and the great number of twins and triplets. The Savanna herd did not disappoint with kidding ease and smart. vigorous babies. The main difference between our Boer herd and the Savanna herd was seen in the babies up and finding mama's teat with very little fumbling around. For anyone who watches those newborns try to eat the first time, you know how frustrating it can be and even worse when intervention is needed. Many times the new born kid was up and drinking before the doe had him cleaned off or birthed the twin.
